Celtic Spirals Photo (Black and White)
Celtic Spirals Photo is a close up of the large stone that sits in front of the entrance of Newgrange, which is a prehistoric monument in County Meath, Ireland. It overlooks the river River Boyne and dates back to the Neolithic Period around 3200 BC (it is older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids). It is considered a passage tomb for the souls that died that year can pass to the other world when the sunrises on Yule.
I was inspired by this stone because of its size, its location, and all the spirals that are carved into its surface. The single spiral symbolizes the journey of the soul through its growth towards enlightenment and the connection between the spiritual and physical worlds. The three circles together is called the triskele/triskelion and represents the cycle of birth, life, and death, the number three, and the earth, sky, sea (the three Irish Celtic elements).
Celtic Spirals black and white photo with several sizes to choose from.
Single Photo: (Semi-Gloss Fine Art Paper)
5x7, 9x12, 11x14, 12x16, 14x18, 16x20
